Burghley is one of the largest and grandest houses of the first Elizabethan Age, made famous recently as it was used in the movie – The Da Vinci Code. Built and designed between 1555 and 1587, Burghley House is much more than a grand house. It offers a unique glimpse of the furnishings and history of a great house from the time of Queen Elizabeth I to the present day.
With over 100 rooms and numerous halls, corridors, bathrooms and service areas, Burghley House is a great place to explore with the history of the house coming alive in a single visit. Visitor facilities include the Orangery Restaurant, Gift Shop, Gardens of Surprise and beautiful walks around the historic parkland. Guided tours lasting one hour are available once a day depending on availability, please enquire about tours on arrival to the hotel.
