Candie Gardens

Located on a hill overlooking St Peter Port with spectacular views over rooftops to the neighbouring islands, Candie Gardens were once part of a private estate. Established in 1894, they are St Peter Port’s finest floral attraction, are open daily and ground admission is free.

Candie Gardens has both an upper and lower garden and highlights include the oldest known heated glass-houses in the British Isles (late 18th century) and a statue of the famous French writer, Victor Hugo. The Guernsey Museum & Art Gallery are also located within the gardens.
